Alfa Romeo 156

I recently found a Belgian Police 3 car set in a vertical Junior Rescue box, from Belgium, with the following models:

Peugeot 206 (light blue and dark blue stripes)
Alfa Romeo 156 (red and dark blue stripes)
Renault Traffic Van (light blue and dark blue stripes)

All have the latest castings (painted headllights on the Peugeot and Alfa, closed side windows on the Renault)

1/72 Mitsubishi EVO - Yellow

I have found recently two colour variations on the yellow Misubishi EVO. These are the latest casting variation (painted lights at the front and rear). One version is a noticeably lighter colour than the other (which is the same as the original colour).

Also, the spoiler at the back of the 'normal' colour version does not match the boday colour well!

I have seen pictures of a Mitsubishi EVO Japanese Police car. I am not sure if this is available in Japan, but I have been told it is a Hongwell produced model.

Can anyone in Japan tell us any more information, please?

1/72 White Polo from Schuco: Wachfirma Securitas.

I understand that there is a new WHITE VW Polo available in a Schuco box with the logo of Wachfirma Securitas printed on the sides doors. I do not know much about this, as I have not seen any reference to this on the Schuco website. Can anyone in Germany tell me if it is available in any shops??

New VWs

The other set from Oxford Diecast is New VWs.

Again all of them have the new one piece wheels and are sold in the box with Oxford Diecasts details on.

There are 6 VWs

1) 058 - (6) VW Samba: Yellow/Cream. The roof colour is darker than the original models.
2) 072 - (1). VW Bus (pick-up) Grey.
3) 062 - VW Bus delivery (V1)
4) 146 - VW Beetle - Blue
5) 146 - VW Beetle soft top Met bronze
6) 144 - VW Beetle Cabrio, red.

New Mini colours

I have been watching some Minis on ebay for a while and I just thought they were the same as we have seen before.... but I wasnt looking at them hard enough.

These Minis (and some VWs) have been imported, it seems, by Oxford Diecast. Their name is now printed on the blue/black card outer box which protects the standard perspex single box.

There are 6 Minis
1) 048 - (2)? Red Mini with white roof: The body colour is lighter than the original red.

New Cayenne colour

Recently I found in Romania a new colour for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It's a greenish colour that resembles the Aston Martin DB7 metallic green, I think one can call this light olive metallic. Below is a picture of it next to a green Z3, I don't have the green metallic Porsche because I hate that colour.

Hi All,

I've just get an info from the factory. In 1:72 scale they will do the VW T5. I think this will be the only one new car in this scale! I really hope there will be the multivan and the normal van as well! If I get any info, I let you know!

155 - Volvo XC90

I found a new variation of the Volvo XC90. Instead of plastic roof rails for lugage/ski transportation, we have integrated rails in the die-cast body.
Less expensive to produce, the effect is mostly the same. Also, it is easier this way to fit lights for emergency vehicles.
Also, the XC90 Bomberos can be found in 2 different versions: with blue lightbar and orange lightbar. As far as I know Fire Rescue Vehicles have red lightbar so maybe both versions are incorrect.

Hi I know this is way off-topic but is there any other forum site where people talk about die-cast models (1:72 or 1:76) as it would seem this site is a little slow and there does not seem to be much traffic here.

Hi i'm not sure if these models are "actually" 1:72 scale or not but they seem to be approximately the correct scale when a car is placed alongside them. I bought two of each lorry from Tesco Store when they were on clearance a couple of weeks ago, my initial idea to be keep one of each as bought and try my hand at modifying the other ones (code3), this was my first attempt at such a thing all i need to complete my code3 for these models is the transfers.

Some time ago i saw these sets in hamleys toy shop but at the time i didnt know that they could have been produced by hongwell but according to hongwell company site they do seem to be their models but they are marked as hamleys on the box? No i didnt buy any as i didnt think they were or could be hongwells...

I have just checked the variations on the Alfa 156, so I thought I woould share what I found:

1) front grill:
a) Originally the grill had a silver mesh over a black background, with a silver edge.
b) The second grill was solid black with the silver edge.
c) The third grill is solid black without the silver surround.

2) Drivers window:
a) Originally open.
b) Now closed.

3) Headlights
a) Originally plastic.
b) Now painted.
